Ingredients:
1 1/2 c. vegetable oil
1 egg
1/2 c. milk
1/2 c. yellow cornmeal
1/2 c. flour
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/4 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. cayenne pepper
1 lb. large peeled and deveined raw shrimp
Directions:
In a soup pot, heat oil over medium heat until hot.
Meanwhile, in a shallow bowl combine all ingredients except the shrimp, mix well until smooth.
Dip the shrimp into the batter coating evenly, then drop into hot oil. Fry 2-4 minutes or until golden brown, turning once.
